In an industry where marriages come and go, the 65-year-old three time Oscar winning actress has leaned on Gummer, 68, as she became one of the most revered and honored movie stars in history. The couple, who married in 1978, have four children and are primarily based on the East Coast where they have a large home in Connecticut. Gummer has a successful artistic career of his own as a sought-after sculptor. In her acceptance speech after winning the Best Actress Academy Award in 2012 for The Iron Lady, Streep paid tribute to her husband of more than three decades. 'First I’m going to thank Don because when you thank your husband at the end of the speech they play him out with the music and I want him to know that everything I value most in our lives, you’ve given me,' she said. |
