With one of her best friends and colleagues up on the stage, Meryl Streep was of course in the audience to cheer her on.
The Hollywood star attended the one-off Follies In Concert revival at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Tuesday evening, beaming with joy as her pal and fellow actress Christine Baranski performed in the star-studded show.
Meryl looked thrilled to be one of the star guests at the special musical event, as she crept in through the back door of the iconic London concert hall.
The 65-year-old flashed her winning smile as she made her way to her seat in one of the prestigious boxes, looking lovely in black skinny jeans, a long black coat with a red blouse on undernearth.
She kept it casual for her night at the theatre, her blonde hair worn loose and with her glasses in place.

The Oscar-winning actress joined the likes of Brian May, Lorraine Chase, Patrick Kielty and Jonathan Ross. The show - one of just two, the first of which included a matinee performance on Tuesday - was a revival of the hit musical in honour of iconic composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim's 85th birthday this year.

As well as starring Meryl's Mamma Mia! and Into The Woods co-star Christine, it also featured the talented and esteemed likes of Stefanie Powers, Russell Watson, Anita Dobson, Ruthie Henshall, Alastair McGowan and Lorna Luft.

The revival of the hit Sondheim musical, which began on the Broadway stage back in 1971, was directed by Strictly Come Dancing stalwart Craig Revel Horwood, and the talented man took to the stage after the show to take his bow.

The musical is best known for its well-known classic songs Losing My Mind, Could I Leave You?, Broadway Baby and I'm Still Here.

And it tells the tale of two couples - Buddy and Sally Durant Plummer and Ben and Phyllis Rogers Stone - who look back over their lives during a reunion, while in a deteriorating old theatre on Broadway, New York.

The original production ran for 522 shows in the 1970s, before closing due to financial difficulties, but it was briefly revived on Broadway in 2001.

It also went on in other iterations in Los Angeles and in London's West End in the late 1980s, where it ran for over 600 performances at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

The one-off celebration of Sondheim's life and works included the matinee performance, followed by the star-studded gala evening on Tuesday.

After the impressive performance, the litany of famous faces who had graced the stage mingled with the celebrity guests at the post-show soiree.

Last week, Stefanie Powers, 72, appeared on This Morning to discuss the iconic stage return of Follies, in which she had a starring role.

'It's about 1,000 years of professional experience going to be on that stage, including Christine Baranski and many, many well-known people,' she explained.

'It's such a large scale show that it's very seldom ever done and it's now being done as a concert version, so it's possible to do it.

'It's going to be an extravaganza, and I think everybody who comes will really feel it's worthwhile.'
